🌿 Herbivores
Despite their size, rhinos are herbivores, meaning they primarily consume plants like grass, bushes, and leaves
🧼Love Mud
Rhinos can often be seen rolling around in mud, giving themselves a protective 'mud coat’ to keep them cool, stop insects biting and get rid of any parasites.
💩 dung to communicate
Rhinos use their poop to share information with other rhinos in the area.
👀 Poor sight
Rhinos’ eyesight isn’t great – they would find it difficult to see a motionless person at a distance of 30m – they mainly rely on their strong sense of smell
Did You Know?
Male rhinos are called 'bulls' and females are called 'cows'. Their young are ‘calves’.
Sumatran rhinos are the smallest of all rhinos, but they can still weigh 600kg (that’s almost 95 stone).
Rhinos have thick skin, but they can still get sunburned. Their thick skin helps protect them from the elements and also aids in maintaining a cool body temperature.
